I’ve never considered myself as a Conservative thinker. In fact I’ve always been of the opinion that Conservatism in its current state of theoretical and political action, is marred by severe inconsistencies when it comes to the methods of dealing with political opponents, the rejuvenation of state institutions, social critique, subsequent reforms and the lack of a progressive generation of new ideas & forms of communication which must draw inspiration from eternal irreducible values – at least in principle.
For people like me, “The Right”, meant first and foremost to find ways and means how to build a decent future for our nation, concrete ways and means, unencumbered by the counterproductive wallowing in nostalgia which even in our troubled times remains a striking aspect of Conservative movements. Such mental sheltering from stark realities gave a sense of psychological grounding to proponents of Conservatism, even providing for a sense of self-babysitting their own insecurities through half-life sensations of past mores.
I am Albanian. I live in Albania, the sociopolitical existence I share with my fellow countrymen here, combined with a mixed historical/religious state of affairs, makes it increasingly hard for people like me to latch on to a centuries-long already established Tradition. We truly don’t have an idea what we could possibly conserve here. The tides of history have never been kind to us.
It is true that with a little bit of effort, anyone can delineate at least an intellectually Western Tradition of political thought in Albania, but the ceaseless experimentation with regimes and ways of life in these last eighty years, leaves one’s imagination and points of reference, stretched thin along a vast landscape of short-lived periods of political order, followed by violent intermezzos and periods of upheaval.
Survival is the only constant element of our “political” history. But survival in itself is not truly political, for it does not leave space for an ordered way of life. Lack of space, in terms of thinking and living properly in a “Respublica” of sorts, deters the possibility of a Conservative political thought process. What are we conserving? Five religions which haven’t found a proper bed in the hearts of an unconsciously pagan people – said once the newly consecrated Albanian Orthodox priest, Fan Noli.
Mixed legal systems intertwined with customary laws, foreign frameworks, foreign expectations towards our ways of life, to our ways of thinking, to our daily conduct, a vortex of unpredictable thresholds, systemic tumult, a general state of confusion which has been going on at least since the advent of our independence day in 1912.
Albania has been made and unmade every thirty years. I truly don’t see what we as a society will be able to conserve from the unmaking. Ironically, a permanent revolutionary declaration is intertwined with the existence of our people. Revolution out of the necessity for survival. A vicious circle ensues.
What can be done then? Be always ready to tread the unknown pathways, I thought to myself. Courage ever on forwards, for whoever buggers on, will bugger on to victory despite of mounting challenges, practical or otherwise. Through the unknown pathways we can grasp the essentials of our political & spiritual existence. I try to listen to the echoes of the mountains, for they contain deeper truths than any book published in the last thirty years.
Continuing forwards from these brief considerations upon our silly state of affairs in present-day Albania, but even in the extended pelasgian crystal ball, I’d like to share a few opinions on Charlie Kirk, the assassinated conservative activist.
A true American, a true Patriot, a true Christian. A good servant of the Lord.
A decent representative of every nation under God. Nations under God draw their existence from the bosom of Abraham. Judaism, Christianity and Islam, despite their individual differences can at least boast about having a common ancestor who refused to remain silent upon the injustices of his age.
In this sense, conservative or not, we can say that Charlie Kirk and the people like him embodied universal values commonly shared not only by all the Nations under God, but also by the individually situated heroes of these Nations, despite of their separate religious convictions.
But who would have a fundamental problem with this interpretation? The defenders of each religion? The defenders of particular values as opposed to universal values? I say no, those who had a problem with Charlie, had a problem with all of humanity. With humanity as such.
I do not talk here of the humanity encoded with the Declaration of Human Rights, or the present vague definition of humanity as an abstract political category based only upon vaguer biological and scientific definitions of what constitutes a bipedal mammal equipped with a consciousness.
No, to be human is to be made in the Image of God. It is this profound realization about the constituency of the human, that which gives these bipedal mammals their uniqueness among other species. Treat your fellow Imago Deis with compassion, for God decreed it that “There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus“
Even anti-anthropocentrist theologies and philosophies draw heavily from the idea of The Image. The only people who are Imageless in this day and age, are a group of people who are collectively sometimes called “THE LEFT”.
You see, “THE LEFT” does not possess an understanding of a universal principle from where the dignity of consciousnesses can be drawn. From what fountain of knowledge did their association emerge?
From deep anti-life instincts.
Starting from the fall of the eastern block, leftism as a theology gradually moved away from the optimistic collectivist ideas about earthly utopias, the red Second Coming, the earthly salvation granted by collective ownership of the means of production.
From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs gradually was transformed into “From each according to his inhumanity, to each according to his desires”. The fall of the eastern block delayed the coming of the Antichrist. Something more sinister was to take his place.
“THE LEFT” assumed the attitudes of their communist predecessors, and proceeded to carve out their own criminal empire upon the sentiments of the common people.
And the Truth found in the Bible gradually was transformed into instructions on how to construct the next political campaign… once the Truth indeed used to set free from the chains of death, now there were several Truths coated in red which set free the common people from self-reflection, from reflection directed towards God, into pieces of emotional reflections towards the slogans of well-educated political agitators – under the umbrella of “THE LEFT”.
These political agitators understood that what mattered fundamentally to them, was the persistence of a faint idea of salvation which then would be repurposed through big capital, to brainwash the masses into submission to anti-life instincts. Because the masses need to be always subdued, there is no other way the criminal empire of “THE LEFT” can survive and sow existential discord among its subjects.
In the past, communist sentiments had sought the dismantling of capitalist order.
Now “THE LEFT” requires the dismantling of the concept of order itself, because through disorder and subsequent lacerations of the spiritual constituency of its subjects, the anti-life instincts fall into their place, assuring a permanent state of aesthetic hypnosis.
This was the logic behind the assassination of Charlie Kirk. “THE LEFT” was infuriated with Charlie’s way of life. They couldn’t comprehend how a man’s voice draws power from the Grace of God alone, and not from temporary machinations designed to sow discord. They cannot comprehend, how people draw power from the Grace of God. It always has to be one desire or the other. It always has to be a materially conceivable anchor.
No money? Fine, we’ll provide you with good women. No women? Fine, we’ll provide you with fame. No fame? Fine, we’ll ruin your reputation. You’re unbeatable? Fine, WE WILL KILL YOU. They tried this with Trump, but they succeeded with Charlie Kirk. There will be others.
Traditionally, these ways of in-group control have only existed within occult organizations, the mafia, the cartels or adjacent crime organizations. But maybe this is the realization we need to get into our heads. That “THE LEFT” these days is one huge crime syndicate. Unsurprisingly, the murder of Charlie Kirk will be discussed for a long time, I for one prefer a headline from the Babylon Bee:
“Heavenly sources confirmed that, after 31 years of graciously allowing everyone on Earth to benefit from his life, God deemed the world unworthy of Charlie Kirk and brought him into eternal glory where he belonged. At publishing time, Charlie Kirk, good and faithful servant, had arrived into the open arms of his Savior.”
His will be done.
